Nasi Kuning (Indonesian Festive Rice)

This is a bright yellow rice resembling gold and thus symbolizing good fortune and wealth to whomever it is presented.  The color comes from turmeric, but it also delights in subtle flavor from coconut milk, kaffir leaves, lemongrass, and ginger.  This version is adapted from “Cradle of Flavor Cookbook” via Arousing Appetites Blog.
